TWO SIDES OF PENUMBRA
My pen name is Penumbra, which means "the undefined region between darkness and light." I chose that name because alas, I am somewhat bi-polar. I find so much joy and beauty in the world around me. But I also see so much injustice and hopelessness.
The darker side of me is posting here on THE AMERICAN MELTDOWN. The posts here are largely about economic injustice, social decay, preparing for hard times. Well, you get the idea.
The bright side of me writes on VIEW FROM SHADOWS END. My posts there are about gardens, simple living and home made happiness.
Sometimes the moods may cross over, but for the most part I will work to keep them positions seperate.

Penumbra means an undefined region between darkness and light. In my other blog VIEW FROM SHADOWS END my posts come mostly from the light. Here in THE AMERICAN MELTDOWN, they come mostly from the dark. I am a former Ayn Rand reader and received my degree in Economics in 1983 at the height of Reagonomics. I still bless him for his work ending the cold war, but his economics opened the door to unbridled greed and corporate control. Sadly, I feel we are in the end stages of a great looting of the American economy. The naked greed and hubris of the few has reached levels of excess and contempt for law that has put the real economy and the real America into a meltdown that seems irreversable at this point. I feel the class war is over and the working class lost. This blog is a cataloging of those losses as they continue to occur. It may also be, hopefully, a cry for people to wake up.
